10 Storage hacks to organize your home
We have so many objects in our houses and it can be so messy, and below are 10 hacks for organizing your house:

By Rania Dawud

We’re surrounded by endless bits and bobs that litter our floors and crowd our cabinets (and minds). Most people have way too many things and not enough space to store them, and if they do have the space, they don’t always know how to utilize it in the most efficient way.

There are tips and tricks one can use to contain their clutter; all it takes is some creativity and resourcefulness.

Jewellery cork board

Use a cork board to display your jewellery! Sounds strange but it works really well. Use pins to hang your necklaces and earrings on for an easy and tangle-free way to access them.

Bed slats on the wall

An unused bed slat could be hung vertically on the wall and used to carry pots, magazines, herbs or any container with a hook!

Magazine holders for the kitchen

Bust out a magazine holder to use it as an organizer for cutting boards, plastic wraps, aluminum foil or parchment paper.

Tension rods for cleaning supplies

Tension rods are often used to hang curtains, but if shortened, they could also be installed horizontally to store cleaning supplies in cabinets. You could hang any hooked spray bottle onto it, clearing the space of the cabinet floor to be used for other supplies.

Tension rods for baking sheets

Similarly, tension rods could be placed vertically in cabinets to organize and separate baking sheets and cupcake pans.

Use toilet roll to store long cords

Storing electric cords is an unbelievable hassle. You can use leftover toilet rolls to hold together the longer and thicker cords. Just fold the length of the cord and stuff it through the tube of the toilet toll. Don’t forget to label it to avoid confusion later!

Closet organizer for toys

Those pocket organizers are a godsend. There are endless things to use them for, whether it’s to store shoes, cleaning supplies, kitchen supplies, etc. But one really good use for them is to tidy up the toys in your children’s room.

Soap holder in the fridge for ketchup/mayo packets

You know those toothbrush holders with suction cups? The suction cups can hang onto any clean surface, including the inside of the fridge. It makes a perfect tiny shelf for the leftover ketchup packets from your takeout.

Spice rack for perfume

Instead of having your perfume on your vanity in a messy bundle, use a spice rack as mini-shelves to store them in.

Magnetic strips for bobby pins

Bobby pins seem to always be scattered everywhere. A magnetic strip can be placed on the wall and it would attract any metallic object to it, including tweezers and nail clippers.
